If you have sent in a submission during 2009 please contact us again at zaummag@gmail.com in order to check on the status of your submission. We have, unfortunately, experienced some technical issues with our old e-mail account and had problems with being able to respond to submission e-mails.

submission guidelines

General Information

zaum puts out one issue annually. We review submissions from September until November 15th. The issue is available in January - to order zaum... If you submit work before September, it will be reviewed in September. zaum accepts submissions of original poetry, prose, and artwork from college students around the world. Please see below for submission guidelines.

Writers:
  1. Send finished manuscripts to zaum before November 15.
  2. Limit your submissions to 5 works of poetry or prose. (Keep the prose limited to 10 pages or 5,000 words)
  3. Include self-addressed stamped envelope if you want your manuscript(s) back.
  4. Attach a cover letter with titles of your work.
  5. Include your e-mail so we can contact you.
  6. Tell us what school you attend and a little about yourself.
  7. In the heading, include either "Prose" or "Poetry"

Artists:

You know you're talented, you know you have style. Send us your artwork or photography and get published THIS YEAR. You might even get your art on the cover (and in color, too!). All other accepted pieces will be printed in black and white.
Send artwork in JPEG format (no program specific or raw files, please) to: zaummag@gmail.com
